“Sleep” Poem by Annie Matheson

Introduction

In the poem, “Sleep,” Annie Matheson uses an abundance of figurative language to describe sleep. She paints a vivid picture of the stillness of the night. This is a good piece to display how the use of figurative language strengthens writing.
